Tri-Annual Program Outreach Meeting (September 2026)
Program Background: Existing tunnel is over 150 Years old… Nearly as old as Druid Hill Park! The tunnel carries 9 million MARC & Amtrak passengers per year on the Northeast Corridor (NEC) (MARC’s Penn Line).
On September 14, 2026 (Virtual 6:00 PM), and September 16, 2026 (In-person open house 6:00 PM at Mount Royal Elementary/Middle School 121 McMechen Street Baltimore, MD 21217), CSW will participate in the Amtrak B&P Tunnel Replacement Program, featuring the new Frederick Douglass Tunnel, Tri-Annual program outreach meetings. Package B includes construction work located in the southern approach to the new tunnels, including the corridor from the West Baltimore MARC Station to the tunnel portals. Work also includes new structures to accommodate new track alignment and maintain grade separations to the street network and adjoining properties. In addition, the Package B will construct a new West Baltimore MARC station.
