Trade Contractor Outreach Events – Southern Approach, Package B
The Frederick Douglass Tunnel is the centerpiece of this program, featuring two new tunnel tubes serving primarily MARC and Amtrak passengers. The new tunnel is named in honor of Frederick Douglass, a Maryland native and an early leader in the fight for the rights of women and minorities. He was also a frequent railroad passenger after escaping to his freedom by boarding a train in Baltimore.
Clark Construction and Stacy and Witbeck (CSW) are committed to assembling a diverse team of trade partners to deliver a significant enhancement for the Northeast Corridor, B&P Tunnel Replacement Program, featuring the new Frederick Douglass Tunnel – Southern Approach.

Project Details
This package includes construction work located in the southern approach to two new high-capacity tunnels, including the corridor from the West Baltimore MARC Station to the tunnel portals.
